Vegan Beauty Brands

There has been an increase in the number of companies that have stopped testing on animals. Consumers who are conscious of what they purchase have responded by supporting companies that adhere to their lifestyle standards of cruelty-free products that avoid using animals for testing and are friendly to the environment.

If you are removing all animal-derived products from your life and looking for alternatives, you’re going to want to add vegan cosmetics to your lineup. There are a few definitions that are important to know when it comes to vegan makeup. Vegan makeup means that none of the ingredients have been derived from animals. Whereas cruelty-free means that there were no tests done on animals.

We have compiled a list of our favourite makeup brands that have both vegan and cruelty-free options.

TARTE

Tarte is not vegan; however, they are truly cruelty-free. They don’t test any of their finished products or ingredients on animals. However, they do have vegan products, including their bestseller Tarte Shape Tape and Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation. All their makeup brushes are 100% vegan. Tarte is also made without parabens, mineral oil phthalates, sodium lauryl sulphate, and gluten.

KVD Vegan Beauty

KVD Vegan Beauty not only has vegan in their name, but they are also cruelty-free. This means that they don’t test their finished products or their ingredients on animals. Not to mention, KVD Vegan Beauty doesn’t sell any of its products where animal testing is required by law. They have gone to great lengths to ensure the customer can shop without worrying about the products they purchase from their company.

MILK MAKEUP

A few years ago, the company blew up with their Hydro Grip Primer, which is 100% cruelty-free and vegan. Even though they were only certified cruelty-free in 2019, they have always been 100% vegan. As their brand is growing, they are also taking steps to be more sustainable, and you can look forward to future products that are sustainable for the environment.

FENTY BEAUTY

If you are a makeup fanatic, you’ll know that Fenty beauty is upping its makeup and skincare game. Both their beauty and skincare line are 100% cruelty-free and do not allow any of their suppliers to conduct animal testing on their behalf. While Fenty Beauty is not considered a vegan line, Fenty Skin is a fully vegan line. Both Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin are paraben and phthalate-free.

RARE BEAUTY

Rare Beauty, started by Selena Gomez, is both cruelty-free and vegan. They are made free of any animal-derived ingredients or animal by-products. They also never test on animals or ask any third party to test on their behalf. Not only are they cruelty-free and vegan, but they are also dermatologist tested and are formulated with sensitive skins in mind.

There you have it, folks! We hope you enjoyed our list, and it can help you when choosing your future makeup brand that is vegan and cruelty-free. Was there a company on the list that shocked you? Is there a brand you prefer?
