No Bake Vegan Granola Bars

This recipe is perfect as a snack, a pre workout energy boost or a small bite before dinner.  Granola bars are easy to make with minimal ingredients required and can be customized based on your preferences. This recipe requires zero baking, which means less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the snacks you love.

No Bake Vegan Granola Bars

Main Ingredient:

Rolled Oats are a staple to all granola bars. They have a great toasty, nutty taste and are used as the main ingredient. The preference is to use rolled oats but they can be substituted for any oats that you prefer.

Binding Ingredients:

For the granola and additives to stay together, there must be something that will bind the ingredients. This can be your favourite nut butter, maple syrup, or blackstrap molasses. The consistency needs to be thick since it will be the glue that holds your vegan granola bars.

Additives:

Let your imagination run wild as the fun starts here. There are so many ingredients that can be added to the granola bars, such as crushed nuts, dried fruits, vegan chocolate chips, and dates. If you use dates, it’s best to soak them overnight and blend into a paste for your bars.

Now that you have your ingredients, follow these simple steps to make your vegan granola bars

  1. Start with the dry ingredients and mix them together until evenly combined

  2. Then add your wet ingredients (your binding ingredients or date paste)

  3. Line the baking pan with parchment paper and spread out the mixture onto the pan. Make sure that you press the mixture down flat and evenly.

  4. Set the bars in the freezer for about an hour or let them sit overnight. Once they have set you can cut the bars into individual sized portions.

  5. Store your bars in an airtight container either in the fridge or freezer.

There you have it!  A simple way to make granola bars at home.
